Service Description
This breastfeeding consultation involves the assessment of all factors related to the breastfeeding process, in terms of the parent, the baby and the feeding, to set up a care plan tailored to the family's goals during a home visit. - up to two hours of a home visit - email/text follow-up for one week after the visit to monitor the care plan This service is available to clients based in the following areas: Belfast - Dundonald - Holywood - Bangor - Newtownards - Comber - Carryduff - Saintfield - Downpatrick Mileage Fees: Please note that mileage fees apply for visits more than 5 miles outside the usual route between Dundonald and Downpatrick. Outside These Areas? If you're located outside the areas listed above, kindly contact me before booking to confirm availability. How does the service work? After boking your consultation, you'll receive a pre-visit form to provide initial perinatal information. During the visit, a detailed history and clinical assessments will be conducted, which may include breast and baby examinations, and observation of breastfeeding techniques and equipment use. I'll offer guidance on positioning, latch, and breastfeeding techniques, as well as demonstrate relevant exercises or massages if needed. A personalised care plan will be created to support your unique needs and goals. You and your partner will also have the opportunity to ask questions about milk production, breast health, feeding, and your baby's growth. I can also assist with the management of: allergies, reflux, colic, constipation, oral dysfunctions, tongue-tie, choking during feeding, low milk supply, oversupply, engorgement, blocked ducts, mastitis, other breast problems, and any issues related to feeding via breast or bottle. *Note: This home visit service can also be booked antenatally for in-person consultations to prepare for infant feeding.
Payment Policies
Payment is collected at the time of online booking confirmation by the consultant. You may reschedule, opt for a virtual consultation (subject to availability), or cancel at no cost up to 24 hours before the appointment. Any changes within 24 hours of the appointment will incur an administrative fee of £15. For antenatal services: If your baby arrives early, there will be no cost for transferring the antenatal consultation fee to post-natal services. Please let me know as soon as possible.
