As part of my breastfeeding support services, I offer Photobiomodulation (PBM), also known as Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), as a gentle, non-invasive treatment to help address common breastfeeding-related issues. PBM uses specific wavelengths of light to promote healing, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain - making it a valuable adjunct therapy for mothers experiencing:
- Nipple trauma and pain (e.g., cracks, blisters, or soreness from latching issues)
- Engorgement and blocked ducts
- Mastitis (inflammation of breast tissue)
- Post-abscess drainage
This evidence-based therapy supports tissue repair at the cellular level, accelerates recovery, and enhances overall comfort during breastfeeding. PBM is safe, painless, and well-tolerated, with no
known adverse effects when applied appropriately.
*This service cannot be booked separately - only as an add-on to an in-person breastfeeding consultation.
This service is provided under certification to offer PBM therapy as a supportive treatment for breastfeeding-related concerns and in accordance with local regulations for the safe use of laser treatments .
